My first task as lead stylist on X Factor, aside from setting up my fashion-hub, was styling the now infamous finalist makeover day! Whilst the live shows are known for their fashion credentials many peoples favourite moment of the whole X factor is the final 12 reveal! The freshly quaffed hair, impeccable make up and of course amazing outfits all come together to reveal the final 12 in all their Saturday night TV glory!
This years final 12 came to the table with already quite strong styles and individuality so it was about working closely with them all and developing what was already there! Turning up the volume a bit and throwing in some WOW pieces is key to elevating the contestants to the next phase of the competition!
This year we are really excited by the uniqueness of each of the acts which makes my job so fun and varied! The overs is such an exciting category: Jay James is super stylish like he has has walked off the page of GQ, Ben has a really cool rock vibe and Fleur is just a stylist dream and has a really bold statement look to work with.
In the boys group we have jake, Paul and Andrea who all have there own unique looks… Who can forget the Pug jumper Andrea wore to his room audition.
The girls are all quite young so keeping them youthful is key and Chloe has an old school vibe I will be exploring further.
The groups are another exciting category with three totally different acts: the New boyband is full of personalities and brining 8 individuals styles together is really fun and rewarding, Blonde Electra are where I can do the most crazy out there looks and they somehow pull them off… AMAZING, Only The Young are very cool with a street influence. All in all I couldn’t be happier to be working with such varied and amazing talents!
I’d also like to thank all the brands who have contributed to the fashion-hub it so great to have the support of so many brands!
