Its almost officially festival fever. My personal favourite being, California’s Coachella. So now is the time to begin that festival shopping spree. Lets take a look at the best festival street style from some of the blogosphere’s favourite ladies, and reveal the trends set to shape your summer.
Whilst Californian festival style certainly plays by its own rules, universal boho influences are always strong. Fringing, crochet, beading and embroidery were heavily present in the Cali desert, denoting a more chilled-out, dishevelled vibe than previous years. Prominent silhouettes again include barely-there slip dresses, loose, textured layers, and the perennial crop top, but it’s the emergence of individual touches, which deviate from the standard festival uniform, that add a little quirky uniqueness. One-off, vintage pieces are back in a big way, with intricate touches of embroidery and filigree necklaces adding elements of polish to the usually grungy atmosphere.
Less prominent was the heavily-studded punk look of last year’s big festivals, with a return to a more carefree and romantic 70’s vibe. Denim cut-offs are once again crowned the festival staple, but are no longer super-tight and heavily studded, but looser, softer, and sometimes attached to a super-cute dungaree.
